Company Lohmann, leading supplier of plate mounting tapes for high-quality flexo printing, performed three days printing tests at the Technology Centre of the German Flexo Technical Association at the university for print and media in Stuttgart. With this action the manufacturer of double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes emphasizes his claim to always offer flexo printers the best possible compressible substructure in order to optimise processes and printing results. In the course of the scientifically performed testing the entire components of an adhesive tape system were checked in detail. The trials also comprised new elements because innovation is essential in order to keep pace with the ever increasing quality demands in flexoprinting. Over and above these requirements, a substantial improvement of the printing results may just be achieved by using an optimised foam tape that compensates for printing forces and tolerances that may occur. Best possible handling tops off the users' quality requirements to a plate mounting tape, optimises production processes and therefore allows cost reduction.

The achieved test results will soon put the R&D department of Lohmann in the position to introduce newly developed products to the market that will offer significant advantages.
