BEYOND Sustainability: A New Certification for Lohmann as First Time CDP-Discloser

Lohmann Sustainability Office has successfully completed the CDP-Supplier certification. This is a significant achievement that underscores our commitment to sustainability and allows us to remain a reliable partner within our customer’s supply chains. 

What is CDP? 

The CDP is one of the most recognized global environmental disclosure platforms. It focuses on how companies measure, manage, and disclose their environmental impacts, particularly in areas such as climate change, plastics, and biodiversity. Beyond just reporting on these issues, the CDP assesses how deeply sustainability is integrated into our overall business strategy and decision-making processes. 

The Complexity of the Disclosure 

The CDP disclosure was an extensive process. It involved completing a highly comprehensive questionnaire of 249 pages with 10 modules covering a wide range of topics, including: 

• How we identify, assess, and manage environmental risks, dependencies, and opportunities. 

• A breakdown of short-term, medium-term, and long-term environmental risks and opportunities and the steps we are taking to respond to them, including financial assessments. 

• Our strategy for monitoring for and complying with (anticipated) carbon pricing regulations in the various countries where we operate. 

• The governance structures we have in place for managing environmental issues at both the board and management levels. 

• How environmental considerations shape our business strategy, including areas like financial planning, procurement and waste management. 

• In-depth reporting on emissions, energy use, carbon reduction targets, and progress toward net-zero goals, as well as the methodologies used to calculate our environmental footprint. 

• Our efforts to preserve biodiversity, including the identification and preliminary analysis of close to 70 legally protected sites within a specified proximity of our global locations. 

This was a complex and demanding process that required the collaboration of various departments across the company. Successfully completing this disclosure is a testament to Lohmann’s commitment to sustainability.
