The Future Initiative Rhineland-Palatinate (ZIRP) has recognized Lohmann as a “Future Company 2025.” The jury honors Lohmann as a company that does not see sustainability, digitalization, and innovation as isolated topics, but as strategically interconnected elements of a comprehensive system that secures future business success.
ZIRP is a network of business, science, and politics that regularly honors companies taking responsibility and shaping change with forward-thinking ideas. The award ceremony took place on October 30 at the State Chancellery in Mainz.
Lohmann impressed with a clear vision: sustainability as a guiding principle and digitalization as a tool for measurable impact. The interplay of technical excellence, data-driven management, and social responsibility is firmly anchored in our strategy and demonstrates what future viability in industry can look like.
Minister President Sees Lohmann as a Role Model for Rhineland-Palatinate’s Industry
Alexander Schweitzer, Minister President of Rhineland-Palatinate, emphasized the company’s pioneering role in his laudatory speech: “Lohmann GmbH & Co. KG demonstrates impressively how digitalization and sustainability can go hand in hand. With courage for innovation, a sense of responsibility, and a clear vision for the future, Lohmann is a role model for Rhineland-Palatinate’s industrial sector. Digitalization helps us use resources more efficiently and is therefore a key to achieving climate neutrality by 2040.”

The ZIRP jury particularly highlighted the connection between digital strategy and sustainability: from carbon accounting to sustainability ratings and the EESG Risk Radar, Lohmann embeds data-driven sustainability across all business areas.
“Lohmann convinced us because the company pursues a clear vision for a sustainable future and understands digitalization as a tool to implement that vision,” said Prof. Dr. Arnd Huchzermeier from WHU. “The combination of technical excellence and a sustainable spirit sets new standards in Rhineland-Palatinate.”

Katharina Candia, Head of Sustainability, sees the ZIRP award as confirmation of Lohmann’s development: “Sustainability has been an integral part of Lohmann’s corporate culture for many years – but in recent years it has evolved significantly and undergone digital transformation. With the EESG Framework (Environment, Economy, Social, Governance), the double materiality analysis conducted this year, and our greenhouse gas accounting methodology, we take a holistic, data-based approach to sustainability.
We use it as a strategic lens to mitigate risks and foster positive impulses and innovations along the value chain. In recent months, we have defined the key action areas for Lohmann, which will be detailed in the Lohmann BEYOND Sustainability Strategy 2030 to be published in the coming months.”

Cornelia Hoß, Head of Innovation Management & Business Development, also celebrates the ZIRP Award: “We see digitalization and sustainability as catalysts for innovation and future business success. Our vision is not only to digitalize processes but also the adhesive solutions themselves. Our goal is intelligent bonding systems that collect data and contribute, for example, to extending the lifespan of car batteries.
Solutions like Debonding-on-Demand and UV LUX already demonstrate how we transform innovation into tangible product applications. The next step is to lead adhesive technology into the connected, smart world of tomorrow. The ZIRP Award is a strong signal that we are on the right path with this vision.”
