Nomex® Paper

Nomex® paper is the preferred insulation material for Class F to Class C systems, as used by manufacturers and repairers of electrical motors, generators, alternators and dry type transformers.

The unique properties of Nomex® also permits its use in the production of cables, electrical and electronic equipment, aerospace parts and many other diverse applications, where its exceptional properties are required i.e.

  • Heat and Flame Resistance
  • High radiation resistance
  • High Chemical Resistance
  • Low Thermal Shrinkage
  • Formable
  • Low Elongation to Break
  • High Abrasion and Wear Resistance

Nomex® paper

Nomex® is produced in various format, the following are available from Lohmann:

Nomex® Type 410 calandered, available in thicknesses from 0.05mm to 0.76mm. Provides the best mechanical properties and is the most widely used version.
Nomex® Type 411 uncalandered, available in thicknesses from 0.13mm to 0.58mm. Often used as soft cushioning material or when conformability and impregnability are of importance.
Nomex® Adhesive Tape Nomex® can be supplied with an adhesive backing as sheets, tape or as a die-cut component.

Short Roll Service:

Nomex® is normally supplied in standard rolls, however Lohmann can offer short rolls from 10 linear metres long x 914mm wide.
