Lohmann Awarded Silver Medal by EcoVadis – Among the Top 13% Worldwide in Sustainability

Lohmann has once again been recognized for its strong sustainability performance with the EcoVadis Silver Medal. With an overall score of 70 out of 100, Lohmann ranks among the top 13% of all companies assessed globally. 

This recognition highlights our company-wide commitment to advancing environmental protection, ethical business conduct, and responsible corporate governance across all our global operations. 

Significant Progress Across Key Sustainability Categories 

Compared to last year’s score (66/100), Lohmann has made substantial improvements, especially in the following categories: 

• Environment: 77/100 (2024: 70/100) 
• Ethics: 72/100 (2024: 60/100) 
• Sustainable Procurement: 74/100 (2024: 60/100) 

What is EcoVadis? 

EcoVadis is a globally recognized sustainability rating platform that evaluates companies based on their performance in environmental protection, fair labor practices, business ethics, and sustainable procurement. An EcoVadis rating has become a key requirement in supplier assessments and public tenders, sending a clear signal to partners and customers that a company is serious about sustainability and long-term responsibility. 

Our Journey: Progress in 2024–2025 

This achievement is the result of a structured and collaborative effort across the organization, driven by a clear roadmap based on the previous year’s feedback. It was made possible through the commitment of cross-functional teams across the globe – including Purchasing, SHE, HR, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, IT, Legal, Quality, and many more – guided by our Global Sustainability Office and supported by strong leadership. 

Environment 

• Transparent global climate and environmental data via CDP Disclosure 

• Commitment to short- and mid-term climate targets through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) 

• Development of a comprehensive global sustainability strategy with time-bound, measurable goals 

Labor & Human Rights 

• Introduction of a global DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) Policy 

• Implementation of a Living Wage Policy, supported by a global wage benchmarking study 

• Launch of the Lohmann Academy to promote employee development 

• ISO 45001 certifications at multiple sites (NR, KO, RS) and global HSE reporting system 

Ethics 

• Completion of structured risk assessments in the areas of corruption and information security 

• TISAX certification to enhance data protection and information security across operations 

Sustainable Procurement 

• Rollout of the Lohmann Sustainable Purchasing Strategy 

• Definition of Scope 3 emission reduction targets for environmentally responsible sourcing 
• Implementation of supplier risk assessments and further digitalization of supplier relationship management (SRM)
