Lohmann Expands its Flex Printing Offer with a New DuploFLEX with OVX Adhesive that Saves Cost by Reducing Make-Ready Time

The new adhesive solution shortens make-ready time, simplifies mounting processes, and increases process reliability – exclusively for wide-web flexible packaging printers. Lohmann Americas, a specialist in adhesive technology, introduces OVX as a new adhesive option that enables bubble-free plate mounting without primer to reduce make-ready time and improve cost structure for our customers. The solution has been specifically developed for wide-web flexographic printing in flexible packaging production and is now available exclusively through Lohmann Americas. The launch coincides with the company’s participation at FTA InfoFLEX 2026. 

With OVX, Lohmann addresses a key challenge in plate mounting: trapped air and time-consuming preparation steps often extend make-ready times and increase the risk of errors. The new adhesive enables bubble-free mounting without the need for primer or additional edge reinforcement, significantly simplifying the overall process.

Air-release liner enables bubble-free mounting

At the core of the solution is a newly developed liner with an integrated air-release channel structure. This allows air to escape during mounting, eliminating the need for manual bubble removal. For users, this translates into shorter make-ready times, improved process stability, and greater overall production efficiency.

At the same time, the OVX adhesive provides secure plate edge hold without requiring additional materials or preparation steps. Despite its strong adhesion, printing plates can be removed cleanly and without damage, extending plate life across multiple mounting cycles and reducing costs. OVX is compatible with all cylinder sizes and is specified for plate thicknesses between 0.045″ and 0.067″ (1.14–1.7 mm).

Optimized for DuploFLEX performance

The new adhesive solution is perfectly matched to the DuploFLEX foam construction, which features flexible polyethylene reinforcement on both sides. This design ensures fast and precise compression and recovery, distributes printing forces evenly, reduces vibration, and maintains plate stability across a wide range of press speeds and impression settings. Users benefit from a broad operating window, allowing them to adjust speed and pressure without needing to change tape hardness.
