As EV battery technology evolves, manufacturers seek innovative ways to enhance performance, increase energy density, and ensure safe, efficient operation. With increasing power demands, batteries generate more heat, requiring advanced thermal management solutions. At the same time, effective electrical insulation and EMI shielding are essential to prevent short circuits and interference.

Lohmann’s multifunctional adhesive tapes offer more than just bonding - they actively contribute to thermal and electrical management within Li-Ion battery systems. For example, in an EV battery our tapes do not only efficiently connect the cells to the cooling system, but also realize excellent grounding or, as part of a laminate, help protect against fire.

  • Thermally conductive solutions: DuploCOLL TC acrylic transfer tapes offer a thermal conductivity of up to 2 W/mK fo an efficient heat transfer.
  • Electrically conductive solutions: DuploCOLL EC range provides isotropic conductivity in all directions for optimal EMI shielding and grounding.
  • Electrically insulating solutions: DuploCOLL IS range offers high-temperature resistance combined with effective insulation for battery safety.

Application Example 
Cooling / Heating

Lohmann’s pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes allow an efficient and reliable connection to the cooling or heating element and provide a thermal conductivity of up to 2 W/mK. Tapes from our TC-portfolio support the heat management inside the EV battery and help keeping the lithium-ion cells in their comfort zone between 20 and 35 °C in order to enable the longest possible lifetime of the cells.
