Validation of our On-going Sustainable Commitment
As part of its ongoing commitment to transparency and sustainability, Lohmann’s Global Sustainability Office (GSO) is happy to share that the company has recently received its first CDP Supplier Engagement Rating (SEA)-score: B-.
What is CDP?
CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) is a global non-profit organization that runs the world’s leading environmental disclosure system. Every year, thousands of companies respond to CDP’s detailed questionnaires on climate change, water security, and deforestation. The CDP platform is widely used by investors, customers, and other stakeholders to assess corporate environmental performance.
Participating in CDP is a strong signal of transparency, accountability, and proactive environmental management.
The Supplier Engagement Assessment evaluates how effectively companies are engaging with their suppliers on climate change, based on responses to the annual CDP Climate Change Questionnaire. This includes criteria such as governance, targets, Scope 3 emissions, and supplier engagement strategies.
What is the SEA?
The Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA) is a separate evaluation conducted by CDP, based on specific sections of the Climate Change Questionnaire. It assesses how well a company is engaging with its suppliers on climate-related issues — including governance, targets, Scope 3 emissions, and the structure of its value chain strategies.
It is not a separate questionnaire, but an assessment of the quality and depth of our disclosed information in the original CDP Climate Report — especially as it relates to supply chain engagement.
Our results & looking ahead
We achieved a B-, which is a strong result and reflects our commitment to sustainable supply chain practices.
The reporting period for the new CDP cycle has already begun, and we are now preparing our next full CDP Climate Change Report. This means we are once again gathering data, reviewing our progress, and working across departments and locations to ensure a comprehensive and high-quality submission.
Our goal remains clear: to continuously improve the quality of our reporting, expand our supplier engagement activities, and drive forward the decarbonization of our value chain.
Thanks to everyone involved in the CDP reporting process.
